Ken's Story
Life
My life started as a young 18 year old not knowing what I wanted to do. I knew one thing and that was I didn't want college instead I chose to chase the almighty dollar and I did with a fare amount of success at the time.
Life was going good in the mid 60ies and then that dreadful day in Jult of 65. My uncle Sam wanted to see me and It was important I show up. So what the hay I did and put on a uniform and off to war I would go, so I though. Well my uncle had other Ideas. You see, he made me a military instructor in the Army and I trained troops until my discharge in 1967.
When I was released from servive I was eager to pick up my life again and returned to the work force but not without some time to myself to get reaccustomed to civilian life. I did and returned to the & up bottling company and worked as a delivery/sales person for another year...Expand for more
and a half.
There was an opportunity to join the UPS team, that the people who drive the big brown delivery truck and I took it. Well, 28 years later and many job assignments to include 22 years in the manegment ranks I retired at 50 years of age and all the benefits a person could want.
So, here I am today at almost 60 and enjoying life to it hights working when I feel like it to give myself some pocket money so I can spend it on what I like to do best, Go fishing on the beach <(((>< .
That was my life in a short story.
College
In life mistakes are made and my biggest was not attending college. It has taken many years for me to realize this and I often ask myself what could I have become if I did attend. I say measuer the man by he has done and not by the schools or papers he has. A true mans worth is what he thinks of himself.
