Ken's Story
I started racing when I was 8 years old, quarter midgets, then go karts at 13. I didn’t tell anybody at school I raced cars. I ran cross country and track and still run in the hills of San Carlos. I went to UC Davis and got an economics degree. Got married right after college which lasted for 4 years. I then met a beautiful woman whose father owned race cars and we got married. We went back East to Indianapolis where I raced for 3 years. I had a ride for the Indy 500 but it got bought out by another driver and I decided to come back to Calif. I then became a stock broker for Dean Witter and stayed in the industry for 15 years. I then became partners with a friend of mine in a mortgage company and a property management company. nship in 1988. I have a son Chad who is president of North American Title Company and also races. He has won many championships and has twins, son and daughter. My wife of 42 years passed away in 2016, so it’s been difficult emotionally. Her favorite saying was, get over it, I have a hard time getting over her death. Life goes on and I have moved on.
High school memories are really great, I was fortunate to have many friends at school, athletes, scholars, hoodlums( which I could be at times). My only regret was I was absolutely terrified of girls. I had a crush on Judy Stirling but was always frightened to even talk to her. I guess things changed in college😂. Anyway, I hope all my classmates are doing well and I’m still in touch with some of them. Best wishes to all.
