Would you believe I'm a pastor?
I wouldn't really say I'm a 'Jesus Freak'. No offense. I just have problems with stylized Christianity.
I don't think Christianity is the only way to live out one's awareness of all that matters most in the world. I think there are many paths that cultivate compassion and humility and equip people to work for justice and peace. But I also think that we don't learn these things in isolation. It takes relationships with those who differ from us to build understanding. It takes communities which share certain rituals and practices to build the collective consciousness that makes sustained personal and global chang...Expand for more
e possible. I think it takes a vision of the spiritual dimensions of reality to live beyond our self-interests, and appetite for immediate gratification.
And that doesn't need a brand or a bracelet or a flag. It just needs people that come together to learn from each other and from those who've come before, and who encourage each other to act on what they learn.
Military
If you remember me, you'll know I didn't like being told what to do.
I support our troops and want to bring them home. Does the public have the courage to elect leaders who will reform our foreign policy or will we expect our soldiers to keep paying the price for our lifestyle choices?
