Ken's Story

Life My life has not been super exciting but it has been a very interesting journey that gravitated me to the pacific northwest. I once thought that I would end up back in MI, still have some relatives in Canton, but I have only been back to visit 4 times since 1974. I have all seasons of weather around me within a few miles, my son and wife and little boy live in Portland OR., It could rain allitle less for golfing purposes, but I can still knock the ball pretty good even though I have been diagnosed with Anklosying Sondilitiis(Rheumatoid Arthritis of the spine) and do not play as much as I used to, and also my wife who is from Great Falls MT sure likes the mountains(hiking) and we are only 1.5 hours from the Beach. Drive a Honda Civic 4 door - hey it's got ac and a cd player - it ain't fancy but it drives good and gets great gas milage, Sandy(wife) drives one also. Like I said an interesting journey. Honesty and good friends are everything along with family of course. My wife and I have recently moved to Palm Desert, CA, in Oct 2007. We love the desert and it has helped with my arthritis and my wife has always wanted to live somewhere that has great weather most of the time. My wife Sandy is a dental assistant specializing in root canals and has 30+ years experience. She is currently working full time. School: Went to college after military under the GI Bill. The $$ ran out and work called. Just a few credits short of a BA in Bus Admin. Have a Industrial Maintenance Certificate from Lk WA Voc-Tech specializing in boiler operation. . Trying to start a small home based business which involves working with a traveling salesman who represents several companies and sells non-fiction books(adult-children), dvd's, spanish, language and study guides to public libraries, prisons but no bookstores. I will be scheduling meetings for him while he is on the road and he will pay me a commission based on sales. He is also from Detroit and went to school at Cody High, former military, then to Schoolcraft CC then transferred to Western Mich University. He will retire in 7 years, so I have that time to learn the biz, setup web-based ordering for clients and make some $$. Military Air Force Mar 73 - Jun 76.
