Ken's Story
I retired from the FAA in January of 2009. I was an en-route air traffic controller at Kansas City Center for over 25 years. In January I took a trip to Thailand and then started a contract job in Washington, DC. in May. I worked as part of a team that is developing new procedures and approaches to match next generation navigational equipment for aircraft. I went back to KC in December, 2010 working on the same contract but a different project interacting with airports regarding a different Next Generation Aviation product. ired March 20, 2020. I have been married for 44 years to a girl from Kansas City (Linda) that I met in a small Bible College in upstate New York. I have two sons and six grandchildren, 4 boys and 2 girls.
I have run 18 sanctioned marathons including Boston 8 times. I got my golf handicap as low as 3 before I started getting worse. I had knee surgery in January of 2008 and that pretty much put a halt to hard, physical activity.
Other than spending way too much time in airplanes, that is about it. Life has been very, very kind to me. I have been blessed with so much more than I deserve it is incredible.
