Ken's Story
Life:
Wow, What happened to the time?! It seems like I just graduated yesterday - but then where did all these grandkids come from ???
Well, it did take two marriages to come up with 7 grand children, but it was worth it. We had 4 kids between us. One son, Matthew, passed away just after his 21st birthday in 1999. Our other three Kids (Brant, Jana & Alison) are doing well (chef/manager, social worker/MSW counselor and teacher) and are responsible for those 7 grandkids (Max, Macy, Dylan, Levi, Christian, Jeremiah & Jake).
As for me, after two years at Kent State University (graduated in 69 -- the year before all the National Guard action there so I missed it), I moved to New Jersey to work for what was then called Bell Laboratories ¿ Bell Labs (AT&T's center for Electronic Research & Development) and did digital communications research -- planning for Picture Phone (a little ahead of the time -- in marketing). t more work. Bell Labs became then Telcordia Technologies where I did Information/Network Security. I retired from Telcordia in 2007 but without missing a beat (or paycheck) started at SAIC doing the same work (Information Assurance - i.e. network & data security).
We love to sail on the rivers and ocean here in NJ. We live less than 1 mi. from the Atlantic Ocean but sail mostly in the Shrewsbury River (about a block away). I enjoy my grandkids and travailing (with my wife, Debby) ¿ US and abroad. We live about an hour from New York so occasionally go in for a play, dinner or museum visit.
We are active in our church (Shrewsbury Assembly of God) and have some great friends there and in the community. Most of my Kids live within about 5 miles so we enjoy family activities.
Well, enough of this blabbering. It's probably more that I said about myself in all four years that I was at Fitch H.S. - I was way too shy but have since gotten better.
