Life I'm sorry to have missed the recent class of '85 reunion which has put me in a sentimental frame of mind. I hope my classmates are living happy and fulfilled lives! I'm back in High School, but this time as a teacher. I teach art in a high school near Boulder, Colorado. At first it made me miss my teenage years but then I snapped out of it and realized I really wouldn't want to be that age again! I get plenty of drama just by listening to my students. I really do adore those kids! Apparently those people who seek careers working with kids have some unresolved issues dating back to that developmental stage. Perhaps I regret the trite topics I wrote about in Mr. McWilliams' journal, the damage I did to the hotel we frequented on ski club trips to Vermont, the fact that I didn't go to the senior prom with Jeff Wetmore, or the time I asked a popular kid how to work the keg. Maybe I just want to be in the yearbook. In any case, I'm working it out and I expect to graduate one of these years soon! Back in our day we would strive to be cool, awesome, and rad. Now the goal is to be pimp or tight. I guess it's really all the same. My students suffer through the self-conscious dread of not being cool while simultaneously maintaining flawless hairstyles and wardrobes (which will only end up looking silly in hindsight).
