Kenneth's Story
Life
upon graduating from high school, i spent the summer working
for cuddy farms until i left for the military. i then went to lackland air force base for basic military training. after completing security specialist technical school. i was assigned to minot air force base, north dakota. i spent the next six years freezing to death in that frigid state. i met my wife while stationed there so it was not all bad. i attained the rank of E-6 technical sergeant. over the next four years i was assigned to royal air force base alconbury,

in 1994.
after some introspection i decided to leave the military after 13 and 1/2 years of service. i wasn't sure what i was going to due until an opportunity presented itself to me. i started working for the burlington northern santa fe railroad in 1995 as a laborer in the maintenance of way department. after two years i asked for and received a transfer to the train services department as a conductor after four years in that job i attained enough seniority to apply to become a locomotive engineer, which is what i am currently doing in the state of california. my area includes los angeles to barstow california and los angeles to san diego. it's a great job, it pays pretty well and i enjoy doing it.
