Kenneth's Story
Well I came to Acadian High from Lafayette High in 1970. Remember the shuffle? I married Carol Kay Geer from Lafayette, LA & we went into the Army in 1971. They were trying to see where to put me & I had a pilots license so I wanted to fly. They said I couldn't because I wore classes (???) So I asked what else they had in aviation & I got to choose from a helicopter door gunner in Viet Nam or Air Traffic Control. That's how I got into ATC ha. nt but we can't let you go!!! After 12 years & a medical transfer (ailing parents) I moved to Memphis, TN & then retired in April 2004. After hurricane Katrina my Mother-In-Law moved in with us. That was a good reason to answer mail from companies wanting my expertise. A company in Germany, DFS, was looking for controllers & I worked in Germany as an instructor froms April, 2009 until October 2013. We then moved back to Gulfport, MS for about 3 months. Then our oldest son had a baby (#12 grand-child lol) in California so we became "Granny Nanny's" & noow live in Redondo Beach, CA.
In the mean time of all the above, ha, we had 4 children, 1 boy & 3 girls, & now have 12 grandchildren. They are scattered from Maryland to Oklahoma to Utah & California. We love to travel & grandkids are fun!
