Kenneth's Story
Following high school I took a couple of hitch hiking trips through Europe (ran into Miss Barr in a hotel lobby in a small town in Ireland) - Scotland to Greece and back.
In December of 1972 I moved up to the Sunshine Coast. Met Sharron in 1974 and together bought 5.5 acres and built our own house (you can see our exploits at our website: hardtocomeby.com) - no water or electricity for 5 years.
In the 80's we lived on Keats Island for 8 years. I was maintenance director for Keats Camps. My 'boss' turned out to be Rod MacKenzie (property committee chairman)! son and we enjoyed a great friendship.
In the 90's moved back to our homestead and ran a B&B for 12 years. Augmented our winter income by selling collectibles on eBay, doing web design and painting (watercolours).
Drove across Canada and back in 2006. On our return we semi-retired. Bought a 1930's classic wood boat so spent time either on our boat or working on our acreage.
Sold the boat and bought another 5.5 acres beside us where I play with my tractor making roads and collecting firewood. I do a lot of woodwork and photography and have some photo blogs on Wordpress (imagemontage.wordpress.com)
