Kenneth's Story

Life I had enough credits to graduate 1/2 way through my senior year. Which I did and joined the Navy to see the world and make something of myself. Sometimes I think I should have stayed for the PARTY!! Good friends and good times!! Missed my graduation ceremony and senior KEGGER, I was overseas. Was able to attend the 10 year reunioun though.... what a blast! I recieved the "Most Unusual Career" award! Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal Diver. Were any of you there? I have been many places and have seen many things. Places lived/stationed in the military: San Diego, CA; Hawaii; Indian Head, Maryland; Whidbey Is., Washington; Panama City Beach, FL; Puerto Rico; Sardinia, Italy. Post Navy: Denver, a short stay in Cleveland and Chicago. I am now (again) living in Denver. Denver is great! I WILL however, get back to either the Puget Sound area or th gulf coast of Florida someday! Places visited in the Navy: Yakuska and Okinawa, Japan; Pohang ang Pusan, Korea, twice each; Hong Kong twice; Singapore twice; Phattaya Beach and Phuket Thailand, twice each; Olongapo, Subic and Manilla and everywhere in-between, Phillipines, more times than I can count; Malaysia; Hobart, Tasmania(Australia); Corsica, San Tropez and Toulon, France; Rijieka, Croatia; Rome, Venice and all over Sardinia, Italy; Marmasset, Turkey; two military SCUBA dives off of the coast of Yemen.... does that count? Baharain; Kuwait twice and Iraq both as military and civillian. Not to mention many places inbetween.. like at least 40 of our 50 states! In the Navy I was a Boatswains Mate, an assault boat coxwain, an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (Diver) and finally, a Tug Boat Captain. The second time in Kuwait and Iraq was last Sep/Oct/Nov working as a civillian contractor for the disposal of "captured enemy arms, ammunition and explosives" at An Najaf, Iraq. One of Saddam's largest ammunition storage bases. Keeping the "boom-boom" out of the hands of the bad guyz. Blowing (stuff) up by the thousands ...Expand for more
of tons! Working civillian Explosive Ordnance Disposal, I lived in Denver for two years right after "retiring" from the Navy on 30 April, 2002. I have also worked at Cape Cod, Mass.; Savanna, IL; Fort Meade, near Baltimore and Caravalle Beach, FL. As well as Iraq which I mentioned. I was able to achieve my U.S. Coast Guard "Captains License" with "Master of Towing Vessels" endorsement in '03. I was working as a Tug Boat Captain in Cleveland and Chicago for a year before returning to the Ordnance Disposal profession. I am a "motorcycle entheusiast", on my fifth bike. The first three were rice burners before I finally graduated to Harleys. I had a 2000 Night Train which I bought new in Puerto Rico on 22 Dec., 2000...until it was stolen this last September of '04. Once the insurance settled, I bought a new 2005 Road King Custom. Black Pearl. She is awesome!!! I was at the "Eleventh Annual European H.O.G. Rally" in San Tropez, France in 2000. Also "Daytona Beach Bike Week" in 2003 and "The Four Corners Rally In The Rockies" in September of '05. Put on over 1,100 miles at that rally. New Mexico, Arizona, Utah and Colorado. Monument Valley AZ/UT, Telluride, Ouray, etc. From deep desert to Rocky Mountain peaks. I was also at the "STURGIS" rally in '06. What a blast that was!!! Stayed at the "Buffalo Chip" campground. I have been "Home-Brewing" beer and mead for about twelve years! A great hobby. Some people collect stamps for a hobby but I never liked the taste of glue! I am on my third marraige. Being gone with the Navy so much early on in life didn't help the first two. My current is from Peru, South America. We met in Puerto Rico. She is thirteen years younger and is GREAT! Very low maintenance and very low stress! She works in the mortgage buisness. I try to keep life low stress, gotta enjoy life! Not allot of drama here! That is about it in a nutshell. I hope I can catch up with some ol' buddies/classmates/friends. Many of you, I think of often!
