Kenneth's Story

Born in Manhattan, lived in Rockville Center, attended Wilson Elementary, moved to Manhattan in 5th grade, lived on 92&Lex, attended PS6, then moved to Kew Garden Hills, Parsons Jr. High, then Forest Hills High, Class of 1960. Went to Bethany College, BS in Chemistry, minor in Economics. Decided not to go to graduate school for Ph.D. at the last minute, went to work for DuPont in Chicago, and got myself drafted. Escaped Viet Nam (somehow), ended up in Karlsruhe, Germany for 2 miserable years (got to see Europe though). Returned in 67 to DuPont in Chicago, got married in 69, moved to Wilmington DE in 69, San Jose CA in 1970, back to Wilmington in 1972. Divorced in 1977, with custody of my 3...Expand for more
year old daughter. Remarried in 1978, had a son in 1978, and another daughter in 1982. Started a new business in DuPont in 1986 and spun it out through an IPO in 1996, and moved the business HQ to Austin, Texas and relocated to Austin in 1995. Also got divorced. Went public in June, 1996. I resigned for a number of reasons at the end of 2001 and started Rygler and Associates, Inc., a strategic management consultancy, focused on high technology markets. Its been quite successful, and I have had a number of terribly exciting challenges. Will be 65 in this September and have no interest in retiring. My kids are all successful and life is good, althought the body is starting to show some wear.
