Climbing out!
Bo at "Fallen Roof" Ruin. The handprint seen in the next photo is right above her.
Beautiful and delicate negative handprint created by placing hand on carbon (smoke) covered ceiling and blowing red mud around it.
A 2-story pueblo seen across a canyon. It will take another trip to make it to that site.
A surprise find. A nearly perfect kiva with 9 attached rooms (storage and habitation). It appears that this one side was knocked out by early pot-hunters. You can still see the upright deflector plate on the floor.
A bigger surprise within the kiva. The pedestals for the roof cribbing revealed etchings that had been covered by a layer of plaster. When the thin outer coating of plaster fell off, the etchings were revealed.
A nice winter dusting on the valley walls this morning.
