Kent is from McKeesport, Pennsylvania. He is married to Cheryl Heintz-Berg. His schools include Atholton High School. He later attended Greenville Technical College (Business). He is Director of the National Institute of Decontamination Specialists in Greenville, SC. Formally Operations Coordinator at Greenville County EMS.

Some of the more interesting things in my life are Cheryl, my wife; my two daughters Jessica and Kelly; I was in Federal Law Enforcement and was on a Presidential Protection Detail for President Regan; I invented a medical resuscitator that was sold to the U.S. Navy; I have written three textbooks on disinfection/decontamination used around the world; I am the founder and former president of the American BioRecovery Asssociation, an international trade association; and I was the technical advisor for season 5 of the TV show CSI. I am currently the director of the National Institute of Decontamination Specialists."....and YES I was a shy nerd throughout high school.
