Kerry's Story

I was known as Kerry Barton, I am now Kerry Mae Hamlin. I live in Tumwater Washington(State). I am married to an awesome Godly man named Dennis. I met him in a Celebrate Recovery meeting. I am a recovering alcoholic. I spent alot of years hiding from whatever, in a bottle and well whatever I could get my hands on. I climbed back up out of that hole with the help of God and AA and NA. Those who knew me way back when, knew me as a party girl and well, lost. I get told that there were alot of people that liked me, but I couldn't see it then and I am grateful now to those who were my friends then. I have changed so much in my life. I am now a follower of Christ and I have been blessed over and over because of it. I love Western Washington, I just can't imagine anything that could ever come close to the beauty of this state. I will have my own daycare starting up very soon. The name I have chosen is "The Center For Making Memories" I chose this name because I now want to make memories that I will cherrish, not those I want to forget. I hope to hear from all of you soon. I think alot about the people I knew and I pray that if there are any of you I hurt that you know that I am truly sorry. Don't be afraid to tell me if you are one of those. I always wanted to be a wife and mom when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a dull idea. As it turns out, they were wrong. I love to pray. I love to just get quiet and pray and work in my garden. I feel that there is where I am closest to God. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have Coffee in the morning with my husband on our porch, quiet prayer, and joy in my heart to be able to deal with the day-to-day. I actually do, it would be my husbands daughter Carlie, she is an awesome woman of God and has been my mentor. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Martha Styles, because I just miss her. I still am a die hard Dallas fan but I love my Seahawks. Looking for a new basketball team though, I guess I just have to follow Ray Allen in Boston. I am a HGTV addict. Just can't get enough. Life doesn't always turn out the way you expect. What's been your biggest surprise? That I would REALLY be a happy person. That there was a man out there that loves me through and through. I can look into those eyes and see his love for me. I never thought I would just love life and see the beauty all around me. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the first bathroom and add on a bedroom. My dream ho...Expand for more
me would be a thatch cottage style home. with all the love that is in it now. . Parent? Share what you've learned from your kids. How to see things, all fresh and new and exciting. Which teacher would you love to see again? Why? Mr Menefee, my science teacher. He was the most interesting teacher and he got me all excited about what goes on around us. If I won $100 million, I'd give tithe 3/4 of it to God , then spend the rest on taking all my grandbabies around the USA, buy my mom a house and buld my house with lots and lots of flowers. To be truly happy, you would be where, doing what, with whom? I'm doing it!!!! My current age is 45. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be sooooo old. I was so completely WRONG!!!. Working hard? Reveal your career aspirations. I Will have my daycare. I have the desire to teach children about other cultures and to know Jesus and how to pray and praise and worchip and to know nature and all the gifts our Lord has for us. What happened to your first crush? Johnny Runnels. Don't know where he is today. My best friend would tell you I'm always there, happy, joyful, a good listener, and love to encourage them., but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as a little bit shy. Still dress like you did 10 (or 20) years ago? Talk style. , Still jeans, but I love to dress up and love to look a little nicer these days. What's the weirdest job you ever had? I was a wrecker driver for my uncle. I share my home with with all my freinds, which I find awesome. You get one do-over. What do you do differently? Nothing, then maybe I wouldn't be right here right now, in love with life. Talk about your oldest friend¿how you met and why you clicked. Amy (Vasques) Williams, we met when I was in 7th and she was in 6th. We just hit it off, Later she became my sister-in-law, we married brothers, she still lives in Texas and we are still very very close. I love her even more than I did waaay back then. What about you would surprise everyone at your high school reunion? That I am sober and not dead and that I actually got it together. My first job was at a snack bar in Clute Texas, where I got paid 2.75 and hour to work a counter and clean. What I remember most about it is the juke box. Share a childhood memory you'll never forget. Playing softball with Shelly Spears, Rene Rodrick, Theresa Caldwell, Mary Roberts and well so many. I think that was so awesome to be apart of something so possitive.
