Kerry Stern:  

After graduating college I moved to Atlanta for a job as a special education teacher. Loved the job and liked living in Atlanta and exploring the south for a few years - but in 1978 I moved to Denver, which had much better skiing. I have been in Denver ever since. I was Director of a small not-for-profit advocay agency for people with developmental disabilites for a few yeas and then went to work for the State of Colorado at the Division for Developmental Disabilities. I ended up staying there 20 years - and was the Assistant Director for 10 years. I married Brad Stern in 1984. He worked in commercial real estate - although it seemed the industy was constantly in turmoil there was always work - making loans in good times and cleaning them up when the economy was bad. Our only child, Greg was born in 1986. We spent years skiing, bike riding, camping, and traveling as a family. Colorado really is a wonderful place to live. My husband was diagnosed with MS in 2002.
