Kerry's Story
After graduating college I moved to Atlanta for a job as a special education teacher. Loved the job and liked living in Atlanta and exploring the south for a few years - but in 1978 I moved to Denver, which had much better skiing. I have been in Denver ever since.
I was Director of a small not-for-profit advocay agency for people with developmental disabilites for a few yeas and then went to work for the State of Colorado at the Division for Developmental Disabilities. I ended up staying there 20 years - and was the Assistant Director for 10 years.
I married Brad Stern in 1984. He worked in commercial real estate - although it seemed the industy was constantly in turmoil there was always work - making loans in good times and cleaning them up when the economy was bad.
Our only child, Greg was born in 1986. We spent years skiing, bike riding, camping, and traveling as a family. Colorado really is a wonderful place to live.

as Greg finished high school in 2004. So once we got him settled into collge (Fort Lewis College in Durango)we headed to Europe. We were able to get in some wonderful trips over the next few years - and we are glad we did. It is more difficut to travel now - as Brad needs a wheeelchair to go any distance. The days of just hopping on a train, bus, ferry or metro and finding a room when you got to the next town are definately over - but we're still traveling. We are headed off next month on a cruise to South America and a side trip to Machu Picchu!
Greg graduated from college in 2008 and joined the Army - not our first choice, but then it wasn't our choice! He is now a 2nd Lt and expects to be going soon to Ft Wainright in Fairbanks, Alaska before deploying to Afghanistan next year. We are hoping for real progress towards peace before that! We are also planning a nice long trip to the Pacific northwest and Alaska for this summer.
I am planning on the reunion and look forward to seeing everyone.
