My Pets
4.5 dogs, one crazy, the others just lazy.
4.5 cats, each also quite unique.
1 cat is blind and thinks she is a dog.
3 fish that I think are just too relaxing.
15 Birds; some that can hold a conversation better than people I have met.
My Kids
The oldest went to Kempsville too, and is a mom now with her oldest going to Kempsville too. I'm now in Maryland (Metro-DC) since late 2000. My 2 middle kids are with me here (since NY State in the 90's), and there's a younger one born in 2000.
My Job
Technically challenging but too many political problems (until recently). Yeah, I finally got my BSEE and it only took me 3 tries in 15 yearspart-time while working full time.
Worked with manufacture of Amtrak's High Speed Train from 2000 - 2004 (Lockh...Expand for more
eed-Martin before 2000 & Grumman Aerospace before 1990, USN 1975-81 & USNR until '87).
I worked at the Army Research Laboratory 2004 & 2005, then the Navy Research Laboratory from 2005 to 2008 for SAIC (part time now).
I have been a consultant part time with Amtrak since 2004, and since 2007; been doing battery management solutions research at TI of Northern VA.
My Home
I just bought a farmette on the Shenandoah River and plan to retire there. It is farther from work but a shorter drive than Takoma Park and no Beltway traffic. I just walk a little over 1/10th of a mile down my driveway and drop a line in the river. Only problem is 2 mortgages (2 houses).
My hobbies,
fishing, camping, hunting, boating, coin collecting and keeping up the house and yard.
