Kevin's Story
Kevin's schools include Monterey Bay Academy.
Kevin moved to Hawaii in 2001 to work as the senor Unix Systems Administrator at Gemini Observatory, an astronomical research observatory. He left computer work to start Hilo Ocean Adventures, a SCUBA Diving training and retail shop in Hilo from which he retired in 2015. During retirement, Kevin released his first music album, "Nearer Still". His music conservatory training is evident in his compositions using classical forms and gentle improvisational approaches on the Native American-style flute. Christmas album, and an album of accompanied pieces. Kevin has continued his music studies as a graduate student with a PhD in classical composition anticipated in 2026.
Kevin also spends much time volunteering at the local SDA school teaching STEM classes using model rockets. He and his wife Madeleine enjoy cooking, SCUBA diving, snorkeling, and watching whales. The serenity of Hawaii is inspiring and his 3rd book, a collection of essays released in 2019. "Wisdom of my Father" is a series of short stories that exemplify how his father demonstrated to him the love of the Heavenly Father.
