Kevin's Story

After High School I joined the Marine Corps. Stationed at NAS Millington, Tennessee (north of Memphis) 4 months for aviation school training as a helicopter mechanic. Then about 4 years at MCAS Camp Pendleton, California (north of San Diego) in MAG-39. After discharge worked in a machine shop for 3 years in Overland Park. Quit that and and went to Longview College for 2 years, transferred to University of Missouri, and graduated in 1999 with a BS in Fisheries and Wildlife. Couldn't get a job in conservation (wildlife Biologist). Worked at Sioux Chief Manufacturing in Peculiar, Mo. for 5 1/2 years. Also worked part time for Weston Brewing Co. in their restaurant during the same time period. Now working there full time in both the brewery and restaurant. OK... free plug coming. ished in 1842. It consists of a brewery, restaurant, outdoor stage, and 3 level pub. All levels of the pub are underground and were the lagering cellers of the original brewery. The lowest level of the pub is 55 feet below ground, also with a stage. It's a little taste of Ireland close to Kansas City. Most of the food, on-site brewed craft beer, and live music are in the Irish tradition. Come on in and check us and the historic town of Weston out. Located west of Platte City north of KCI. Take the Weston/Tracy exit off I-29. Lot's to do and see there...antiques, arts, crafts, bed & breakfasts, McCormicks, wineries, seasonal festivals...including the largest of which are apple and Irish festivals, both in October.
