Kevin's Story
Life
Update: 4 kids, ages 18 to 18 mos (as of June '08), who are absolutely exceptional (should be no surprise to any of you!). Ethan, my oldest is now, and he has decided to attend Wharton on a full scholarship. Rian is 16, 5'11". Those of you who remember me, know where he gets his height! [5'8" Dad!], and Corey is 14, 5'10". Along with Ethan, both are honor students. Just in case, I am still taking donations for! :-)
I am in the information technology field, computerizing the world! I left Hitachi Consulting a couple of years ago, and moved to CSC Consulting, managing the Midwest region for Oracle systems integration sales. Business is good for me, and I have been blessed with some spectacular years selling. Update: I will be leaving CSC shortly, and taking an executive management position with a new company.
My martial arts skills have gotten better, as I now have four black belts. I have spent the last few years focusing on "ground-fighting" skills, and really enjoying the simplicity of it all. You won't be seeing me on UFC Season X, as I mentioned in an earlier post. As they say, "...that ship has sailed". However I still follow the sport, and am happy that people are seeing fighting as...Expand for more
"sport", and not something you do outside of the ring.
It may surprise some of you to know that I actually got up to almost 200lbs, though admittedly, I didn't look 'bad', per se. But a couple more pounds and I would have had to replace my wardrobe, so I got on P90X and am back down to my "fighting weight". So believe it or not, at age 45, I'm am actually ripped again. Toughest training I have done, post martial-arts career, and a testament to "getting old".
My French and piano skills are still roughly the same, but I am committed to staying with both. We are still making jaunts to Europe to practice, and are scouting places to build a vacation home, likely Costa Rica.
Melissa and I still plan on relocating to the Bay Area by 2010, so I am getting even further from TX. By then, the housing will perhaps be reasonable, and I can actually afford to make the move! At least we have the cabin in Tahoe, which isn't all bad if San Fran doesn't work out.
Expect to hear more, as I am blogging, and have written four books. I will post information on these things, should I decide to actually pay for Classmates...I know, cheap!
That's about it. I hope to chat with some of you soon...
God bless you all...
