Kevin-Bruce's Story
Life
I was never really challanged until I went to college. There I had to study. I became part of the night crew of the sculpture Department. We worked until dawn. I was a double major, art and art history. I was blinded in an accident on campus. I recovered enough vision to complete my education and I have had over 4 surgeries in the last 30 years to break even. I have never considered this a problem. It has made me strong.
I was on the fencing team at the University of Utah. I got into climbing and caving. I continued do this until my knees gave out.
After Graduation, I worked as a jeweller, until I entered an apprenticeship with Ed J. fraughton and Dr. Avard Fairbanks Sr. where I learned sculpture. Inspite of my vision I became noted for my finish work.
1982 brought no work and no money. I changed work to feed my family (2 children). I started working for Hercules in the composite structures group. I spent 8 years building and designing composites. My resume has become something to die for. I have worked with NASA on several projects, the United States Air force projects and Navy Projects. I have designed everything from tank killer warheads to satellites.

ctural draftsman and intern. I am now working for a firm in Salt Lake. We do public buildings.
I have an art company and Istill continue to produce my work. I have done several sculptures and some are monuments. My company has bid on City Projects for "the 1% for arts program". We have a monument at the Chateaux at Silver Lake in Dear Valley Utah.
I have 10 grandkids, a loving wife. I hardly climb anymore, and caving is out of the question. We have been talking about getting back into crosscountry skiing again so we can tolerate the winters.
Currently, we are building a studio in our backyard. It is a small studio about 500 sq. ft. I will have most of our kilns and blacksmithing equipment outside on a covered pad. We are currently firing our own work and we provide services for others. Our company is named wizensage art company, we are browseable on the net as wizensage art company. We have a site it is in Geocities.com. Go there and you just need to type my company name. We invite people over to review our work as it comes out of the kiln. We are constantly working on our environment as we have a large yard and too any projects. We will be buying more advanced welding equipment this winter and we plan to build large gates and steel projects.
