Kevin's Story
Life
After several miscalculations and errors in my personal life, career, and educational pursuits, i finally grew up and decided to make good decisions. I went on to UCSB, where i graduated with a BA in cultural anthropology. I am single, with no kids (amazes me, too!), although i've been close to the altar a couple of times. I have a job with the UC that i love, and am lucky to live next to the beach in CA.
School
I would never do HS again. I can't say that i have any fond memories of HS, except for maybe ditching class and wasting time with my friends. I wasn't really the pep rally or sports kind of guy---more like the smoking behind the gym and falling asleep in class type. I was not th...Expand for more
e best of students, and just barely graduated. Alot has changed since then---i went on to UCSB and graduated with high honors, dean's honors, and departmental honors.
Workplace
Well, i loved the UC system so much i decided to apply for a position in academics. I got a job with them and have worked my way up to student affairs officer (impressive, huh?!). i love my job and the interaction i have with the students and faculty.
I guess things have a way of turning out for the best. I often think that if i had actually applied myself in HS and went directly on to college, i probably would now be twice divorced with several kids. But here i am now, single and working in a job that i really enjoy.
