Life I joined the Marine Corps as a senior in high school, and left for Boot Camp 2 days after we graduated in 1996. I was in 3rd Bn, Mike Co, Platoon 3117. Following Boot Camp, I reported to Marine Combat Training in Camp Pendleton in Southern California. Upon completion of Combat Training, I reported to 29 Palms, California where I went to school to learn Communications, which would be my job in the Marine Corps. Upon graduation from Communications School, I was shipped off to Okinawa, Japan where I served from Dec. 1996 - Dec. 1997. When I returned to the US, I was transferred back to Camp Pendleton where I served in First Marine Regiment, First Marine Division. I was there from Jan 1998 - March 2000. In March of 2000, I transferred to Headquarters Bn, First Marine Division where I was the Platoon Sergeant of a Communications Platoon until July 2001. In July, I received orders to Recruiting Duty.
