Kevin's Story
Life
After four years in the Army, I returned to Southern California (and wondered why ever since) where I became a police officer in L.A. County. I've since moved into the private sector (more money, less time, etc.) and have moved to the midwest. It's a whole different lifestyle these days.
As for the off time hours, I enjoy reading, cooking, woodworking and the company of two very demanding cats. I've also spent time volunteering at our local CASA (domestic violence shelter) center working with their rape crisis project, a bit of a holdover from my cop days, I guess.
All things considered, it's been a great change from California, even if I don't get to do any scuba diving out here. No freeways within 30 miles from here, can't see my nearest neighbor, have deer in the front yard all the time. Not too bad at all!

ies and "Saving Private Ryan." Lots of good soldiers and good friends with that unit. Shot on the Battalion rifle teams for three years and spent considerable time attached to the Division's Marksmanship Training Unit. This got me involved in competitive High Power Rifle shooting, a sport I continue to enjoy today. In August, you'll always find me at the National Championships at Camp Perry, Ohio for the Service Rifle Matches. Still get back to Ft. Campbell and even Ft. Benning occasionally for matches. Always seems a little like going home to me . . ..
Still remain in contact with some old army buddies, and am a Life member of the 101st Airborne Division Association, and the 506th Airborne Infantry Regt. Association. Since the start of the 9/11 war, I've worked as an advanced marksmanship trainer under the Civilian Marksmanship Program, to get the SDM (Squad Designated Marksman) up to speed. It's one way I can give something back to the troops, and provide support for the guys on the line.
