My ordeal started when I was 16 years old. I had very, very little help with the adjustment or life changes that were forced upon me as I became an amputee. There was no support group available for me to attend, and I was never referred for psychological counseling at all. My true story as I wrote it all down, chronicles my struggle with the unbelievable harshness that life can bring to us at times.
