Kibby's Story

For more info and to chit chat go online to Facebook. I still live in Merry-land (Maryland), going on 12 years now. I can hardly believe it. It is beautiful here. We live on the water, the Miles River, which is just off the Chesapeake Bay, on the eastern shore of Maryland. My son Nathan is 23, my daughter, Neisha is 21, and my youngest daughter, Karissa is 20. My 2nd husband Steve and I have been married for 18 years. He works for Southwest Airlines, and I am currently a Personal Trainer working locally at a gym in Easton, Md. It is so hard to believe we are 50. I always thought people who were 50 were old, until I got here, and it's not so old. Feeling good and loving life. My nest is empty and that has been an adjustment. For the most part is is wonderful, but some days I find myself looking around for a kid to chase after. Maybe one day there will be grandchildren running around. My welcome mat is always out here in Maryland if any of you ever make it up this far northeast. I must tell you, you can take the "girl out of Texas", but you can't take Texas out of the girl. I sure do miss it. But life is good for us here. Cheers to Total Health, Love and Happiness! Alittle Background Information: Senior year of high school, my parents had divorced and Mother moved into Lake Highlands. The principal at South Garland wouldn't let me finish out my senior year at South Garland since I lived in another school district. The only way he would let me be a South Garland graduate was to attend classes at Lake Highlands High School. It was beyond crazy, but the guy just didn't like me it seemed. I was not able to go through commencement exercises, get senior pics made, or go through any senior exercises or activities at either school. I received my South Garland high school diploma in the mail, and never looked back. I never really understood why all this happened. It totally devastated me as a young teenager, when your senior year is suppose to be such a big deal. Of course I got over it, but I must say I enjoyed my kids senior years. It made me realize how the actions of one person in authority can change the way you view life. I guess this is one reason why I spent so much of my life trying to build up the young people who God placed in my life. After high school I started working in D...Expand for more
allas for R.O. Evans Pontiac, and waitressing at Steak and Ale. I attended Eastfield Junior College for 1 year. Eventually got into the club scene in Dallas and started waitressing at the Point on Northwest Highway and working at Central Volkswagen. In 1978 I got hired with Braniff Airlines, and worked with them until the bankruptcy in 1982. Found a job at the Westin Hotel at the Galleria Mall in the athletic department. Was dating my soon to be first husband, Mike Taylor from Pleasant Grove, who I met while flying at Braniff. We married in 1983. I got hired with Southwest Airlines in 1983. We were married for 7 years, and had 3 beautiful children. After our divorce I married my present husband Steve Dalton. We have been married for 18 years. I met him at Southwest where we both were working. We moved from Plano in 1992 to Conroe where we lived for 4 years flying out of Houston HObby airport. We then moved to Kentucky, close to his ex-wife and son Bryan. We commuted to Chicago from Kentucky every week to fly out of Midway Airport. It was while living in Kentucky that I quit flying to stay home with the kids. We lived in Kentucky 5 years then moved to Maryland where we have been ever since. I moved my Mom here to live with us about 3 years agos from Texas after my stepdad died. I had the honor and priviledge of caring for her until she passed on to be with Lord 2 years ago. About the same time my daughter became sick with an eating disorder, anorexia. It was a devastating journey not only for her but for our whole family. It rocked us to the core, and I don't think any of us are the same after such an ordeal. We are thankful today for her recovery and renewed life. She is healthy, strong and as beautiful as ever. Both daughters now are at the University of Maryland. Neisha is soon to be a Senior and Karissa a Junior. Both are doing great there. Karissa plays LaCrosse and Neisha is her biggest fan. My son Nathan is living locally and working as a Auto Body Collision Repair Tech. He likes cars and motorcycles and loves his job. Enough of all that. Just a recap of the last 32 years. Wow that is unbelievable. In some ways it seems like yesterday. God bless and thanks for stopping by to read my profile. Please drop me line. Would love to reconnect a bit with friends from the past.
