Kim's Story
Life
Hi Everyone,
I have moved around to many places, and being a military brat, I have lived all around the world, but since High School, I moved to Hartford, CT where I was married in 1999 and had my son Christopher who is now eight. After CT, I moved to Milwaukee, WI (I know why?). I went there to work for my brother. I had a great experience and it was not all that bad. My daughter Courtney was born in Milwaukee. She is now a sassy 6. I lived in Milwaukee for 6 1/2 years and then I decided to move back south, to Charlotte, NC. I am currently getting myself back used to the weather. I am really enjoying the warmer climate.
School
I can't say I had a big crush, maybe one, so I will keep it to myself, and he knows who he is.
The teacher who inspired me the most was Mrs. Rita Beard, she was excited about teaching, and I was excited about going to her class. To this day, I still go back and visit her.
College
I attended Benedict College on a Basketball and Volleyball scholarship from 1992-1996. I graduated with honors with a Accounting Degree. While at BC I received many athletic achievements, which I am very proud of. Athletics made it possible for me to achieve some of my current goals. It also taught me many of lifes lessons, so I am glad that I was able to be apart of something that added extra meaning to my life...Expand for more

I know most people won't believe it, but my first roommate and best friend was Lakeanlya Robinson. We didn't stay roommates for the whole four years, but the time we did stay together, we had fun together, I just wish she would have stayed!
Since Benedict I received an MBA from the University of Phoenix in 2004.
Workplace
In college, I worked as an assistant to the Park and Rec Director for the City of Columbia, who was also the Athletic Director for Benedict College. (Didn't have to work to hard to get this job! :)) From here I worked throughout college for Bombers Stadium (Minor League Baseball). A couple of my teammates worked here also and still continues to work for them.
After college, I got my first real real job in the Financial Services Industry and have stayed there every since.
Phoenix Investment Services - SR. Acct - Hartford,CT
Aeltus Investments - SR. Acct - Hartford, CT
US Bank - SR. Acct - Milwaukee, WI
TIAA- CREF - SR. Acct - Charlotte, NC
Pinnacle Funds Admin - Account Manager- Charlotte, NC
This is my career path. I didn't know it would go this was, but I am glad it did, I have learned so many things about the investment industry, that I hope will definitely direct me in the right direction with retirement. To think before I got my first job, I didn't even know that this type of business existed.
