The day after graduation I moved to Davis, but after a few years of college I took a break, moved to downtown SF, then to Berchtesgaden, Germany, where I was pretty much a ski bum for a winter. I moved back to San Jose and finished up at SJSU with a B.S. degree in Recreation and Park Administration and ran an inner-city day camp for urban children for a summer. Met the love of my life while at SJSU and we married only a few months later. In 1985 we moved back to Davis with our four young children. They are all adults now and I'm "Grammy" of eight: four boys and four girls, all close in age, and all living near me. They are so much fun and I love them like crazy.. August of 2010 my strong, healthy husband suddenly collapsed at work and didn't survive - an undetected vascular birth defect in the brain. So many wonderful memories: long barefoot evening walks, thru-hiking the John Muir Trail from Yosemite Valley to the summit of Mt.
