After I left school I moved to Winnipeg, where I lived for a year, taking part in the great closing of the Eaton's Catalogue. Returned to Ottawa for another year, when I worked for Stats Can. Then, I moved to Calgary, where I lived and worked for 13 years. During that time I worked in the Oil and Gas Industry at Suncor managing a data centre for operations and exploration. Upon returning to Ottawa I applied to Corel where I was the 9th member of the new Technical Support team, in support of CorelDRAW. During my 10 year tenure with Corel I made a career switch to Quality Assurance, managing the testing and release of CorelDRAW to release 7 and for CorelDRAW for Mac. I then went to JetForm as Director, QA for 10 months until I was drawn away by Entrust where I was Senior Manager for testing and development of Desktop Applications and various and sundry other projects. I was laid off from Entrust and was out of work for 2 years following that. Tough times ensued. Until I finally got back into the game at Cognos as QC Manager for a new release: Analytic Applications.
