Kim's Story
Wow! It’s been 22 years since being at RDHS! Great memories like leadership camp, volleyball, basketball, intramural council & student council. Remember the chocolate chip cookies from the caf? Mmm!
After RDHS, I went to Queen’s University & got a Bachelor of Physical Heath & Education combined with a Bachelor or Arts (Sociology). Right after that, I got my Bachelor of Education with a focus on Kindergarten to Grade 6.
I got married to a military pilot named Mike in 2003. Our first posting was to Trenton, Ontario. I taught at North Trenton Public School...Expand for more
and, later, Frankford Public School while Mike flew the CC130 Hercules and did 7 tours to Afghanistan. During this posting, we had our child in 2005.
In 2010, our family got posted to Portage la Prairie, MB, where we still currently live. I had back surgery in 2012, I worked at the base for 3 years running their Morale and Welfare programs while Mike taught new military pilots how to fly. I returned to teaching in 2015, knowing that’s where I am truly meant to be. We are loving the Prairies and our family of 5 (us plus a teenager and 2 awesome dogs).
