Chantal Kim's Story
LG!! Life is good!!
Took me a while to get it right, but now I'm retired as of early 2007, traveling the world with my hubby.
Been married twice, with two grown daughters, four grown step-kids (one from a previous marriage), and grand-kids - lots of grand-kids - nine granddaughters, and five grandsons (Whew!)! I'm living my dream with the love of my life!
In 2012 we bought our home on Vancouver Island, after having lived on the outskirts of Vancouver (BC) for quite a number of years. I've lived in the Vancouver area since the fall of '95, and absolutely love it!
Update: We've sold our winter home on Maui, as of March 2019. Our thoughts were that we'd spend more time going to places other than Maui (but I really do miss our vacation home).
This year with COVID, we missed out on our first cruise - a 15 night Spain, Italy & Tenerife Atlantic cruise, leaving from Fort Lauderdale. We'll take this cruise as soon as it's safe to travel, again.
My hubby's biz takes him all over the world, but mostly to Europe and Asia, as a rep for a commercial aircraft leasing company...Expand for more
. Since I travel with him, it keeps us both on the move, for an average of eight months of the year. We probably spend at least another two months of each year on vacation, so we're not actually at either home very much...
Update: We're winding down the business travel (or trying to)... We'll take another project or two per year, to pay for our two bathroom renos, building a deck and rubberizing the pool-deck, and landscaping in BC. After that, we'll probably just "pick and choose" projects - likely based on their location - we can do that, you know!
Update: We have a new baby - a fur-baby, that is! We got our Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier in April of 2016, so I've been spending more time at home, and less traveling, which is good (in my opinion).
Travel is a dream that so many people wish for, me included. However, when you're away from home for eight to ten months of each year, for ten or more years, travel can wear thin. Now I'm more content to "stay-cation" at home or do road trips in Canada and the U.S., than to travel overseas for extended lengths of time.
