Kim's Story
After high school, I attended North Central Michigan Colllege in Petoskey for two years, then transfered to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. I graduate with a B.A. in Communications in1983. From there I worked in radio for awhile, then concert promotions until the end of the '80's, all the while keeping a job waiting tables. In the early '90's, I finally got married, moved to Grand Rapids,and had two children, (Madeline in 1996 and Ben in 2000 when I was 40!). I finally gave up the notion of being Murphy Brown, and stayed at home wth the kids for ten years. I was divorced in 2006. I am still in Grand Rapids, one of Michig...Expand for more
an's Cool Cities, and currently work full time in the fashions department of a big box Meijer store. Murphy Brown would faint. Being the mom of a teen and a tween takes up most of my time right now, but when I'm not at home or work, you can find me at at one of the myriad metal or rock concerts at the VanAndel Arena, the beach at Grand Haven during the Summer, or on the deck at Rose's on Reeds Lake in East Grand Rapids enjoying a cocktail or three ;)
I still get Up North several times throughout the year, as my mom and stepdad live in Boyne Falls near Boyne Mountain. I miss Walloon Lake terribly, but love living in Grand Rapids.
