Kim's Story
Thirty years? Has it really been that long since the class of "78" left MHS? Funny thing is I don't feel that much different than I did then. Oh, the bones creak now, the wrinkles are there, the hair is grey, and I need to hold the paper at arm's length to read it, but in many ways I still am the same.
After graduating from ISU, I went to work teaching in the Peoria area. I retired when my husband and I adopted our first two children. Now we have four children, the youngest of whom starts kindergarten in August. I don't know if having young children...Expand for more
at my age keeps me young or makes me older.
I spent some time in Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina and ended up working with some other women to form an animal rescue group, Triple R Pets. Currently I am working with Midwest Food Bank to help distribute donated pet food to shelters throughout the state. In my spare time, I volunteer at a therapeutic horseback riding program.
I guess the 30th graduation anniversary of the class of "78" has me waxing a bit nostalgic. I'd love to know what my former classmates have been doing for the last 3 decades.
