Kim's Story

Life Hey it's Shuck'o'. Don't ask me who gave me that nick-name I can't even remember but it sure has stuck with me all these years. Well it's been 24 years since I left Middletown. I can honestly say that the memories have stood still for me. I left my Sophomore year very abruptly & I have always felt like I left behind unfinished business & friendships. I got to see some of my friends not too long ago from there & I must say that it has filled the void I have had for years. Andrea Price/Napier & I have become close friends again & I even get to see my pal Anita Potteroff/Marsh once in a while. I saw Jimmy Morrow not too long ago..he's still the same Jim I remember but I really miss the whole gang & would love to see them & their families someday. I have been married for 19 years now & I have 2 children ages 11 & 15. That tells our age doesn't it... I Live outside of Fort Wayne & Work for the Olive Garden as A supervisor.I also have my own business selling Tastefully Simple(a gourmet food company) I manage a fairly large team of people who are great. I know I am not following the path of my nursing career but I worked as a geriatric nurse & a flight nurse for years & decided that the best place for me was at home to raise my kids. I went back to work a couple of years ago as my kids got older. I still love my hobbies when I can find the time. I love to camp, fish, hike, visit wineries, travel & I truelly love to Karaoke. I played in a band for several years as a lead singer but found that life to be too high strung for me in a bar every weekend, especially as I got older & became a MOM. I keep busy as I am sure most of the world does. No sit down time for me. I remember an old saying that Kim Green's dad once said to me..."The busiest people are the most productive people Gee...I ho...Expand for more
pe that's true. Some days I feel very unproductive.(ha) Life is good for me & I hope life has been good to you as well. Until another time.......Kim College College life was just that....Lot's of studying & a little fun every now & then. I Finished nursing school but really wanted to be micro biologist. Loved that microscopic work. 21 years later I no longer practice in the field but keep educated on my nursing skills in case I return to the field some day. My lifelong dream is to own my own Bed & Breakast Inn somewhere very secluded. I love the outdoors (when it's warm)& enjoy nature. Workplace Have you ever felt like you have too many irons in the fire? I work for the Olive Garden as both a host & as the catering manager. This is a great job as it allows me work around my children's schedule & be home at night. I also have a business called Tastefully Simple. I had been with another direct sales company for over 12 years when I left that company as an upper level director to come to Tastefully Simple.I just saw ground floor opportunity there for me. In a short amount of time I am climbing my way to the top. I am in the 3rd level of management already with only 2 more levels to go to get to that top. I enjoy public speaking & I often work as a motivational speaker for not only my company but others as well. I still love to sing. But no longer belong in a band. No time for that any more. Yep..I miss it. It was fun to be so care free.I do love both of my jobs & my husband has often told me that I have a knack for both of those(in charge)careers.I have never been one to sit still for very long so I'm sure that someday I will live my dream of owning my own Bed & Breakfast. In the meantime...I'm just your average housewife with the hectic life & of course never enough time for me!
