Just a quick bio for those that might be interested ... After obtaining my M.S. in Biostatistics from the U. of Pgh Graduate School of Public Health in December 1982, I accepted a position at Abbott Laboratories (Abbott Park, IL) in their Cancer Diagnostics group. At Abbott, I assisted various researchers in analyzing their data for various types of cancer including colorectal (CEA), prostate (PSA), ovarian (CA 125), breast (CA 15-3), testicular (AFP), pancreatic (CA 19-9) just to name a few after which time submissions and presentations to the FDA were made. Just before starting my position at Abbott Labs I got married in Monroeville to my wonderful husband Rob of 26 years this past May (2009). In the spring of 1994 I left Abbott and started my own statistical consulting corporation (ROB Inc. --> Research Oriented Biostatistics, Inc.) and have been consulting to researchers all over the world but primarily in North American and Europe. atly enjoy teaching MD/PhD and PhD students all about biostatistics -- it is very rewarding to assist others so that they can pursue their dreams.
I love what I do and feel very fortunate to have a great life including my family, friends, pets (a 4-year old Shi-Pooh (Toshi) and a 2+-year old Schnoodle (Fiona) who replacedour previous Pekingese named 'Joss'), a wonderful home on a private lake in northern Illinois. My husband and I helped move my parents here to Mundelein in 1990 -- it's great having them so close, just a half mile away. My mom has been in a nursing home for the past year due to major health issues. My dad still lives at home but is starting to have some health problems at age 87. Much of my time is spent looking after them.
My husband and I have been involved in the martial arts for many years including karate and Tai Chi. My other interests include knitting, quilting, photography, cooking, reading, listening to all kinds of music, gardening, hiking and biking. We are also involved with a local western Buddhist community (Jewel Heart) for our current spiritual journey.
I am truely grateful and blessed to be where I am today!
