Kimberleigh's Story
Hi, I wrote a story along time ago and I guess it's gone with my membership. So I guess I will write another and update it. Basically after high school, I moved to Speedway with boyfriend at the time (Mike) and attended Speedway Academy of Hair Care. (where Lisa Alderson showed up to also attend). As my boyfriend was a bodybuilder we ended up starting and opening our own gym and tanning salon in Plainfield, we also got married, had 1 son (Josh). Everything lasted for 6 years and then I decided I wanted more then Indy have to offer. So got divorced and took Josh to Chicago, I lived there for 5 years, went to CCI to get a degree in Travel, worked for the airlines, and put Josh into modeling and commercials. It was pretty cool the nightlife and lake. Then we moved to Lexington, Ky for 3 years. I worked as a CTC at a travel agency, Josh went to a private school and continued the modeling, commercials, pagents with a agency in Cincinati, Oh. He got lots of jobs since they knew of him from his Chicago stuff. I didn't know Lex. and Cin. were so close. We went to alot of the baseball games and also the nightlife was better on the border of the 2 cities too. Well, Lexington was to slow moving and was to country for me so we moved to Highlands Ranch, Colorado. We have lived in Colorado for 13 years now. I was still working as a CTC at a large travel agency and Josh was still doing football and baseball as his main sports. He tried a bowling team for 2 years and they won it all. He tried inline hockey and they won it all. Josh and I learned to ski day one we moved here (in Breckenridge) and Josh went right to the Winter Park Ski Team, he make it to the JO (junior olympics) and before he started middle school we moved fulltime to Winter Park,Co so that he could be on the fulltime WP Ski Team. He loved it school consisted of 2 days of schooling and 5 days of skiing. While Josh was skiing and schooling, I was managing a hotel in Winter Park and we were still traveling alot, taking 2-3 vacations yearly besides all the travel to all the ski races to all the ski resorts all over Colorado. Josh wanted to go to Team Summit (Breckenridge) so we got a second home in Dillon, Co (right outside of Frisco/Breckenridge) and moved to Castle Rock and Josh started a new sport in between the others BMX racing. We did alot of traveling with the ski races and the BMX races all over Colorado and we also went to Lousiville, Ky 2x yearly and Las Vegas,NV 4x yearly and Utah,Wy...Expand for more
oming,California for the ski races. They wanted him for the Mammoth Mountain Ski Team in California but we just couldn't do another move plus Josh was traveling with Dave Mirra and Ryan Nyquist doing BMX racing. He was so good,he was winning every title and he got sponsered by THOR, answer, cheetah, troy lee. Once we moved to Castle Rock,Co and Josh was at Douglas County High School all the sports were overlapping and he had to tone it down. So we kept our place in Castle Rock as our main home and kept the home in Dillon as our weekend mountain home. Josh skiied on the summit team until he graduated in 2006 on weekends only. Josh quit BMX while he was ahead in 2005 and does it occasionally (just to show the guys he still has it and wins). In his senior year they won the championship for football and got to play at the Mile High Staduim (where the Broncos Play) and was on tv. Josh intercepted and made touchdowns and was in the denver newspapers. During all I was going between working for the Winter Park Resort-race department and also helping manage josh's bmx team locally and managing his extreme skiing career. Josh is now in college( Western in Gunnison,Co) and everything is quite on the home front. Just me and my dogs (Barkley & Blue) and the hedgehog and hermit crabs (Josh left behind). I am getting back into racing my cars at the Bandimere Speedway in Morrison,Co. Which I had a 93 Dodge Stealth r/t turbo and now have a 90 Jaguar xjs v12 convertable. My uncle and dad and godfather still race at the dragstrips too. Here and in Indy and Ohio.They have a 69 Dodge Dart, 55 Chevy Belair, and the 3rd is a cross between a maserati mc12/lamborghini saleen s7 twin turbo (my uncle builds all his race cars from the ground up). So when I'm not racing or involved with Josh (my son) and pets. I am actually running my own business( A Goodnight Sitting Service)-which places nannies, petsitters, home watchers, housekeepers, elderly care into homes here in Colorado perm. and temp. for people vacationing in Colorado. It's great fun and very easy to do and rewarding. Just recently Josh tried out for the Colorado Crush( indoor arena football-owned by John Elway). We'll see how that goes. I'm looking into buying a house in Las Vegas. I've stayed in touch with a very few people from CG. My brother ( Vince)actually for awhile was dating some of my friends from high school. GROSS! Some I knew what was up with them. That's my life in a nutshell so to speak.2008
