Life
I married during my freshman year at U of A. Yeah, it was too young. Divorced in 2000, remarried in 2002, widowed in 2004. Didn't expect to be single at 37. Luckily I have great support, lots of family and friends around. I really enjoy my life now. My oldest graduated this year and is studying animal science at the U of A. My son is a senior and suddenly my house and refrigerator is too small for all the 6 foot boys hanging around! My baby is now 6-and going into 1st grade. She's everyone's little princess! My kids and I travel a lot, spend time with extended family, and are really involved in our church. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you at the '09 reunion and since we're in So. Cal. several times a year, would love to get together for a drink and catch up! ( I can only handle so much Mickey Mouse!)
School
Why can't we clone Ms. Semegran? She was awesome! I've tried to cultivate a love of the theater and the arts in my kids, but they quit drama in the first semester because all they did was watch...Expand for more
movies!
Too many great memories to list them all -any regrets would be being in a hurry to grow up and not just enjoying the moment. Joey, Katie, Mel, Beth...I love you all!
College
I started at U of A in '89, but since my husband was military, we transferred to San Antonio after 2 years, so I finished at UT. I flip-flopped between social work and education several times so ended up graduating with a dual major.
Workplace
I have been blessed to have awesome jobs that allowed me to minister to others and never get bored! I worked with teen mothers for several years (yeah, God can make everything turn out good!) and then I did family counseling and taught parenting classes at a DV shelter. For the past several years, I ran a program that provides therapies and other services for babies with special needs, and recently, I accepted a consulting/training/public awareness position with the state so I can work primarily from home to spend more time with the kids. I'm also managing a grant to set up a support network for foster parents. My most important and rewarding job has always been being a mom!
