Kimberly's Story

Life As a late bloomer, I married (again) on New Year's Eve in Las Vegas. After a recent trauma, my husband and I decided we needed to take time to enjoy our surroundings and live where we hope to be happy, so we left Cape Cod (for good this time!) and headed south. We landed in Cape Coral where my sister Melanie lives. We are not thrilled with the area, but will wait to move on... I'm getting too old to do this! After having my routine colonoscopy at 50, it was discovered that I had colon cancer. I had an immediate colorectomy and have completely recoved, but not without cost. Immediately following my surgery, I had complete organ failure and was not expected to survive. Since I did, I feel I must urge EVERYONE not to ignore this very important me...Expand for more
dical procedure. I know it is something we ALL hate, but hey, the alternative is worse! I have three grown children and a grandson in Georgia and a brand new granddaughter in Maine. After many years as a flight attendant, I am now grounded and trying to decide what to do with the second half of my life. We adopted two miniature dachsunds 3 years apart (they ARE sisters) and we just added a Scottish Terrier (after a brief bout with a Beagle named Boots who made Marley look like a lap dog). The girls keep us busy as they think they are German Shepards, and it takes a lot of effort to convince them on a daily basis that they are not! We started out with a Gone with the Wind theme for names: Scarlett and Melanie but then we got Molly Be Good. If only.
