Kimberly's Story

Life Well, if you're looking at my profile, you probably already know me, so I'll start off with my husband, and work my way from there. My husband's name is Rodney Jackson. He's from small town, Alamosa, Colorado. We both graduated from Adams State College (in Alamosa), then he moved on to get his MBA at Utah State University. A couple of years ago we started up a little log furniture store. At first he built the furniture, now he just sells it. As any business owner would know, the store has it's ups and downs, but Rodney has done an amazing job at making it work. Rodney is one of seven kids, and loved growing up in a big family, so our plans are the same. Right now we have five little munchkins. Hyrum, 5, loves being a big brother. He's a smart little guy, already reading, and loves to learn. He wants to be a dad when he grows up. Cumorah, 4, wants to be a princess when she grows up. She loves playing house and riding her bike. Unfortunately she got my clumsiness and is always running into things, and falling down. Sariah, 3, loves playing with dolls and loves it when it's peaceful - which doesn't happen very often at our house. Harmony, 1, is our little whirlwind - leaving chaos in her wake, she just can't sit still - maybe she'll be our runner! Emma is 10 months, and is a cute little butterball - complete strangers like to come and pinch her chubby little legs. They are all best friends, and stick up for one another, which makes my job a lot easier. So, my full time job i...Expand for more
s being a mom, and I love it - especially when my children are being perfect. Okay, so that hasn't happened yet, but maybe some day, like when they are grown and out of the house. But, you know, it's a good life, going to the park, eating PB&J, coloring, and singing ABC's. I've only been a mom for about 4 years, before that I got my bachelors in Biology and ran track and cross country in college, and loved it all. In the next 10 years I hope to keep doing what I'm doing, some day I'll graduate from patty cake and move on to something like multiplication, and checkers. I also hope to run a marathon one of these days, and maybe be in an Iron Man Triathalon, but for now, I will just keep running after kids. So I'm sure I will be quite busy for the next little while. But then that's what life is all about. After graduating from HR, I went on to get my bachelors degree in biology at Adams State College, where I also ran track and cross country. In August of '99 I married my sweetheart, Rodney Jackson. We stayed in Alamosa for 3 years while rodney finished school, he was a few years behind in school, because he had been on a mission for our church for a couple of years. During those years we had our first two children, Hyrum, and Cumorah. When Rodney graduated we moved out to Utah for Rodney to get his masters degree, and to be close to his parents. While he was working on his MBA, he started up a log furniture store, and on top of all of that by the time he'd graduated from Utah State h
