Kimberly's Story

Life Mike and I are now living in Mount Jackson. Bought a home in the spring (May '03). I am currently working at our old Alma Matter (Stonewall) as a Teacher's Aide for the Special Education Dept. I have transferred to University of Phoenix to complete my BA in Human Services and Business Management. I FINALLY have an associates and, in less than 18 months, I will have my Bachelors. We have not been blessed with children yet, but we keep praying. Our daily lives are kept busy with work, school, and we volunteer within the community. Mike and I both volunteer a majority of our time to the Mount Jackson Volunteer Rescue and Fire Company (He goes into burning buildings and heals the boo-boo's and I plan fundraisers and other community activities). School I must say that I enjoyed my time at SJHS. I miss the athletics, hanging out in the halls with friends, and playing tricks on Ol' Miss Munchichi, Mrs. Hoffman. I doubt I would change anything about my high school life. Who could forget the sit-in because of the heat? What about never really doing anything in Mrs. Wilkins' PE except for picking clovers and walking the track? How about square dancing? Now that was fun. (NOT!) And what about Guinn's desk ...Expand for more
chair falling apart in Mr. Sherwood's Chemistry class? Those things I miss the most. Forget AP History and Mrs. Ritenour's class! And who actually studied in Study Hall? Mrs. Moore had more on her hands than I think she bargained for at times I think! College I am currently attending the Univeristy of Phoenix to obtain my degree in Human Services and Business management. Workplace I am now working at SJHS as an aide in the severe disabilities class. I love it. Before that, I worked at several retail and management jobs. I hate customer service and had to find something that would not let me lose what brain cells and hair I had left. Before coming to SJ, I worked with Head Start. I loved it too, but I wanted to eliminate all of the dead-beat daddies and child molesters that were running afowl in our community. So, I went to SJ and have been inspired to got back to school. By the way, Mr. Krol, Mr. Sherwood, Mr. Fannin, Mrs. McIntruff, and Mrs. Rosenburg (now Mrs. Diachenko) are all still there. Mr. Wymer retired in 2005. Amazing! Mr. Hines retired in 2007. Military I have never served for our country, but I admire those who have and still do. May God bless our troops and bring them home safely.
