Life After graduating high school, I tried the College thing, but let's just say that didn't work out too well. So, I began working full time as a waitress until I was 20 years old. I decided that wasn't for me either, so I moved to Garden Grove, Ca. and began working for a large promotional products company at entry level. Then for the next six years I worked hard and learned all I could to better my career, slowing only briefly in 1999 to have my beautiful baby girl, Brianna. Then, tragically on May 6th, 2002 my father was diagnosed with a life-threatening brain tumor, and on the same day I was stricken with Hyperthyroidism. My Father passed away six weeks later, June 17th, 2002 and my health continued to worsen. Despite all efforts, my Doctors and Specialists were unable to control my illness, and I had to have my Thyroid surgically removed on August 31st, 2004. Luckily I came through the surgery with few complications and am slowly regaining my health. I am still on medical disability, unable to work, but I am dealing with that (I love working, I don't do the housewife thing very well). But I do love all the time I get to spend with my Daughter that I wouldn't have if I were working. It's hard to be a single mother, working or otherwise, but I wouldn't trade it for anything.
