Kimberly's Story

Military I went to Navy boot camp in April 2003 (Great Lakes, IL). I was in A-School in Pensacola, FL, from June until November 2003. I worked at AIMD Oceana (Virginia Beach, VA) from November 2003 until September 2004. I went to some more school in Norfolk and have been at VAW-120 in Norfolk, VA, since December 2004. In September 2005 I will be transferring to VAW-121 (also in Norfolk). I should be doing a 6-month deployment leaving in either April or October 2007... it hasn't really been decided yet. I plan on making the Navy a career... at least 20 years. I don't know wha...Expand for more
t I want to do when I retire at 39!!!! I've only been in 3 years and I bring home close to $3000 a month and the benefits are awesome!!! I don't pay for any kind of medical or dental insurance or services (for me or my daughter). I have huge life insurances for me and my daughter. I get a raise every January 1st and every other April (for years of service). I get paid for not living on base. I get paid every time I'm on a ship and it pulls away from the pier. I get a bonus every April to pay for upkeep of uniforms. And so much more. My question for you is... Why wouldn't I stay???
