Kimberly's Story
In 2014, after my second divorce, my daughter and I bought a house together in the same neighborhood where I grew up. I enjoy being back in my hometown - it is comforting. After a stint at the Daily Press, I landed a job at Ferguson Enterprises as an Administrative Assistant. I just passed my six and a half-year anniversary with them. I made up my mind not very long after our October 51st Class Reunion to throw in the towel and finally retire, which I officially did on January 7, 2022.
I wasn't very social in High School, except within the Grenadier Band, but since the reunion, I've found old friends make great new ones at this time of my life. I love to be with people who have a positive, fun and adventurous side. My daughter/roommate and I attend comedy shows as much as possible. Nothing makes me feel better than laughing. Louis, Raleigh, DC, Richmond and Virginia Beach to see shows. We want to go to Vegas, also. She has never been.
Back in the early 2000's, I had a job where I traveled all over the country for the US Army Environmental Command, creating clean-up plans for our many installations and ammunition plants. I have been in every state so far except Maine. I love to travel (not by cruise ship - unless it is a Viking Cruise). I'm hoping to get back to Europe one more time before my body falls apart. Plus it is our dream to tour Great Britain and attend a taping of The Taskmaster.
I am taking different Art Classes at the Village Arts Studio in Hilton, which is something I have missed over the years. I'm also contemplating starting to write again. I've had a novel growing in my brain for the past 20 years - so it's time to let it out.
