Kimberly's Story
Life
After college I worked for various local publishing houses and ad agencies. Then one Winter I was called up to the major leagues and went to work for the Chicago Cubs baseball Club as their graphic design coordinator. I worked at Wrigley Field in the front offices of the club. I have never had a better lunch hour than sitting in the stands watching them cut grass on a non-game day,
while the breezes of Lake Michigan waifed the smell of fresh cut grass up to me. There I learned the great big world of periodical publishing through the Vine Line and Cubs Quarterly magazines.
I left the Cubs with the player strike of 1994 to start
my own design firm. I continued to work with major league baseball through my own company and other subsidiary partnerships on a full time basis. I run my 7 employee, award winning advertising and design agency in the Elgin area. We design and publish numerous monthly magazines, create corporate marketing strategies, design franchise advertising, des...Expand for more

brochures, letterhead, display ads, trade show booths, even design
and print plain white business cards for the barber down the street.
I married Jeff Bero (class of 85) in 1994. He is fourth generation owner of F.J. Bero & Company,Inc. They are Plumbing Contractors also in Elgin.
We have had 3 beautiful daughters (Peyton in 1996, Eva in 1997,and Ainslee in 2001) We now reside in a new home in Gilberts, Illinois. I really do not regularly see anyone from Larkin besides my husband and a small group of his friends. Every once-in-a-while, someone from LHS will pop out of the woodwork around town and
we always say hello!
Jeff and I continue to run prosperous businesses, golf as often as possible, serve on volunteer and not-for-profit local charity boards and try to raise our girls in the best way we know how.
The Class of 1988 20 year reunion was a huge success and we all had a ball. I cannot wait for the next reunion, but I am not in charge! (yipee)
