Kimberly's Story

Well, I got married at 19 and divorced at 30, when my kids were 3 and 4. I had 2 absolutely beautiful children, inside and out. My son was born with a rare chromosomal disability and we were told that he would only live for 3 to 6 month. Fortunately for us, he lived for 11 1/2 years. In that time, we were told that he would be a vegetable and not compatible with life, so to just give him up and move on, after all, we were young and had a toddler. Well, he defied the odds and was actually considered gifted. He was so smart, and boy did he love his momma. He died January 05, 2007. My heart still aches for him. I actually got to experience "unconditional love" for the first and only time (so far) in my life. My daughter, Ashtyn is a very good student in school she is in honors and she makes me proud to be her mom. We are very close and have lots of fun together. She excels in anything she puts her mind to. We love to go to concerts together and just hang out. She is growing up so fast. Too fast. Isn't there a rewind button that I can push?? I have enjoyed every facet of her life. She is the most beautiful person, inside and out. I want to grow up to be just like her. I am still really close to my ex, as he is the father of my kids and I see him everyday in my daughter. I felt it was important to keep that connection for both of my childrens sake. I think it has helped my ex get through his guilt too. I am very close to his new wife as well. I am hoping to just see and hear from some of my old classmates. I hope that everyone is well. I love people and just hearing, reading about the journey's that each of them have been on. We are all here for a reason. Don't be afraid to contact me. I've never been a snob, despite what some might have thought about me in school. I was just very shy. Not anymore. Reach out, you might find the best friend you always wanted. If any of you are interested in the journey it was to be Logan's mom, go to" wwwlivingwithtrisomy13org and click on the memories page. He is listed in North Hollywood Ca. under Logan Hunter Popejoy. You can also find him on youtube under the same name. He is one of the 2 proudest accomplishments in my life. He and Ashtyn have made this life worth living, especially when I didn't want to even get out of bed to face the day. Being a mom was/is the greatest gift I was ever given. I would have had more kids, I always wanted 4. Kimberly Logan If I could improve my home, I'd remodel my backyard and add on a sunroom. My dream home would be a Victorian home, 3 stories with a wrap around porch.. Never expect that you are going to have a perfect child. But that no matter what, love, support and acceptance, will make them thrive. If I won $100 million, I'd give 1/2 of it to my Organization of it to continue building, then spend the rest on support and knowledge about the gift of disabled children, helping families in need and my bills. My current age is 39. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be wiser. I was so completely wrong....Expand for more
To be the world's greatest mother and example. I always wanted to be a gymnast when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a waste of time idea. As it turns out, they were right. I've been trying to get back to working out. I find that it clears my mind and makes me feel good about myself and how I look and feel If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have Music, the internet, and be able to drive fast, to be able to deal with the day-to-day. My children are my inspiration. They both have fought through so much and came out stronger than I could have ever dreamed for them. More loving too. My daughter and I are obsessed with reality tv. The Real World, Rock of Love, I Love NY, etc. It's pretty funny. We have to watch the 2nd episode of I Love Money. I am confused how people can put themselves out there and look like total fools, and they benefit financially. lol. My best friend would tell you I'm sensitive, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as cold or snobby. I dress like a teenage or young 20 something. No granny panties for me. lol I share my home with my daughter, which I find comforting. I should have some gymnastic trophies, but, I have trophies from my son's accomplishments and my grandfathers stock car racing days. In 10 years, I hope to be happy and content with the love of my life. I'm going to get there by putting out the right vibes and morals. On classmates, Augie and Cy are my oldest friends. I've always clicked more with men than with women. I hate caddy women. I've had enough in my life (even currently) to last me a lifetime. Guys are just really cool. My first job was at Carl's Jr., where I got paid $3.13 per hr. to handle the register. What I remember most about it is It was my first job at 16. I had regular customers. I got tips. And I never had to do a dish or make a burger. Got the guys to do it for me.. Starting Oxnard Elementary in the 3rd grade. A boy liked me, that some other girls liked, and so they hated me and threatened me everyday for 3 years. He probably has no idea. JL. I didn't understand. Now, I would take them all on. lol. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Irene Stone, because she was my bff in HS. The wildest thing I did in HS was write letters to friends in addition to doing my classwork. Crazy wild, huh? Life hasn't turned out exactly as I planned it, but what doesn't kill you can only make you stronger. I would love to see Mr. Miller the science teacher and coach. He was the coolest cat. What happened to my first crush? Well, we were together until I turned 17 and broke up with him. We reconnected about 2 years ago, after not seeing each other in 20, and kinda picked up where we left off. But again, I realized he wasn't the guy for me, so I said bye, bye. If I had one do-over, it would have been to wait longer to get married. We were way too young. What would surprise peeps at my HS reunion might be that I haven't changed that much. Grown yes, but apparently I look very similar to what I did in HS.
