I volunteer when I can but have found that while Cub Scouts give women plenty of opportunities, Boy Scout troops are full of men who stick to ideals from the fifties where women should keep their ideas to themselves no matter how much better they are trained in scouting than the current leadership. It's a shame to have spent all that time training only to be turned down by a bunch of men who think they know it all when they don't. Ain't that the way of the world?".
