Kirk's Story
Life
Married since 1983 to Judi -- met in college. Judi grew up in Tucson (Santa Rita class of 1979). Judi is very active in the community and spends a great deal of time doing fundraising for our son's school. We have two children -- a girl, Samantha, born in 1993 and a boy, J.P., born in 1994. J.P. has autism so that is a daily challenge. Samantha is a very socially active, typical teenage girl.
We live in a rural part of New Jersey but within 40 miles of New York City. We actually live on a small (18 acres) former farm and have four cows (allows for much lower property taxes -- big issue in NJ). I do not take care of the cows (I have no knowledge or ability) -- a local farmer stops by every few days and does so.
Hobbies -- cars and running. I have become a passionate Italian car enthusiast, especially Lamborghini's. Have a great time taking them to car shows and talking to other enthusiasts. Currently have a 1989 Lamborghini Countach and and a 1973 Ferrari Daytona....Expand for more
Also have a 2004 Porsche GT3 which I have been taking to the track.
Which takes me to running -- I am neither a beautiful nor a fast runner, but I have become a marathon and ultramarathon runner in the last 10 years. Have done probably 15 marathons and 10 or 12 ultramarathons (50 mile races). I am usually right in the middle of the pack of finishers. Feels great when you finish -- like when you stop banging yourself in the head with a hammer.
Workplace
After ASU, worked briefly at Conoco, then worked at what is now Accenture doing computer systems consulting for 4 years. Then went to graduate school to change careers. Got an MBA at Harvard. Have worked on Wall Street in New York since 1988 as an investment banker. Currently at Deutsche Bank. I work with large multi-national industrial companies helping them to buy other businesses, sell parts of themselves and raise the money to do so. Lots of travel, domestic and international -- typically on a plane 2 or 3 days a week.
