Life
Married (for the first and only time) in 1990, I have two children and live on an island off of San Diego, CA. I am an SVP and commercial lender with a bank. I still have family in Chattanooga and come to the state once or twice a year for visits. After college, (UGA), I lived in Atlanta briefly, then Bristol, VA and Anderson, SC before moving to Washington, DC where I lived for 13 years. There, I got an MBA and became a banker. In 1989, on a skiing trip to Aspen, I was introduced to the guy I married a year later, Bruce, an environmental engineer from Portland, Maine. We moved to Portland, OR for 10 years and had a wonderful six-month stint in Paris, France before moving to the San Diego area in 2000. le beautiful scholar Jade is 9. She is from Yiyang, China. It has been exhausting, challenging, and fulfilling trying to do it all -- have a demanding career and be a wholly committed parent to these two fabulous children. My husband, children, friends, family, books, exercise, travel, home, and art are important to me. Life as an awkward teenager at East Ridge HS seems a world away at this point in life.
My handsome, adored brother, Leland Manning, was killed in a car/train crash in 1988. Our older brother, John, is a successful businessman in Minn., MN with two terrific nearly grown children and a lovely wife, Lynn, a doc to whom he's been married for 23 years.
I used to be a newspaper reporter, and remain unabashedly curious about people. I would love to hear YOUR story.
