Knut's Story

I went to San Gabriel High for my Freshman year, 1961/62 then Mark Keppel 1962/65. After Mark Keppel I went to PCC and got drafted in Feb 67 and went to Germany after Basic and AIT. Spent almost 48 years in Germany, 20 years as a soldier and then 28 years as a Department of the Army Civilian. Left Germany in December 2014 and moved to Stockton, CA. On the 1st of January 2015, I got married to the wonderful lady I was engaged to in 1966. Life is great and it is good to be home again. y under reconstruction as a Ranchero) and not worry about snow. Love it!!! After being out of the country for so long, every day there is something new, kind of like when I emigrated from Norway in 1954. I guess it could be considered re-emigration, very exciting. On 21 March 2019, went through open heart surgery for Aortic Valve replacement, everything went well, recovery is kind of slow. In March 2022 moved to Visalia California and love it here, more of a small town vibe. Still dealing with medical issues related to my military service, staying positive.
