After High School I worked for awhile and then was drafted in February 1967. After Basic Training and further training at Ft. Gordon Georgia, I came to Germany in October 1967. I wound up staying in for 20 years served as a First Sergeant twice and retired in 1987 as a Chief Warrant Officer. I started in Civil Service after retirement was I worked in a variety of different positions culminating with the Master Planner position at the U.S. Army Garrison In Schweinfurt Germany. I got married in 1969 and have two sons. I live about 20 kilometers outside of Nuernberg Germany. As of 30 September 2009 I retired from my job with the Army because my wife was diagnosed with cancer and I felt I needed to be there for her. After 7 months I went right back to the position that I had retired from, since staying at home to support her was not the ideal situation (it seemed to take away her independence.
